Hi — this is hitting your inbox later than usual this Friday, and that’s because I’ve been busy working on several things at once (I still have a book due, I’m reminded by it repeatedly slapping me in the face every morning). That doesn’t mean there are no links… there are!
Zohran Mamdani and the “Black Vote” (some of the aforementioned work! A return to the world of take writing, this one about the narrative that Zohran Mamdani has/will struggle with the “black vote.” Thanks to my friend Ali Gharib and The Intercept for working with me on this one—share it around, maybe I can do some more for them)
Zohran Mamdani and Mahmoud Khalil Are in on the Joke (more Zohran content, but this one is worth your time, and honestly you’ve probably already read it)
Driving Academy Diary (a non-Zohran read for you)
Drop links to what you’ve been reading this week in the comments!
Loved your piece in The Intercept! The general election feels so far away, and I tend to feel cynical about that—that ~100 days is a lot of days to spread some serious anti-Mamdani propaganda. But I guess it's also ~100 days for Mamdani to reach new audiences, too. And you know I'm the #1 Hanif Abdurraqib fan. Great reads this week :)
